BIBIB SUMMER & BTAT TBR 2017

Hello, everyone! Just checking in to share my TBR pile for the Summer 2017 Biannual Bibliathon and BookTube-A-Thon. I, unfortunately, won't be able to read them all during this week because I'm off to vacation. Literally the worst timing possible...

Since both of the read-a-thons are taking place in the same week, I, like many others, combined the challenges and came up with a total of six books.

Before getting started, a quick disclaimer: Group book for BiBib is Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh but I do not have it right now, therefore I won't be able to read it. And reading challenge which features an LGBTQIAP+ main character will most likely be left uncompleted because I don't own such book. Shame. Shame. Shame. I'll take care of this disastrous problem soon. But if I have time to read another book -I know I won't but let's just assume that I do, my choice of book that will cover this challenge would be Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.

Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about the TBR list.

The first book that I have to show you guys today is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. *gasp* I know, I know. But hold your tomatoes before throwing them at me. I have a decent explanation as to why I haven't read this book yet. As you guys know, I'm from Turkey. If you're new, hey there, I'm Turkish. And even though I'm somewhat fluent in the language, my vocabulary still fails me from time to time. Because of this, I prefer to take every word in, thus, I was waiting for the second book, Crooked Kingdom to be translated. You know, for marathoning purposes.
That being said, this book will be covering read a hyped book challenge from BookTube-A-Thon and read a book from one of the host's favourite genre from BiBib. I chose Brittni's favourite which is high/epic fantasy.

Next stop, we have The Rule of Thought by James Dashner, the second book in the Mortality Doctrine Trilogy. I will be covering read a book that you've seen somewhere other than BookTube challenge. I saw the first book in the series, which is called Eye of Minds, at a book fair a few years ago and was immediately sold after reading author's name. I loved The Maze Runner by him and years later, I finally decided to start reading. It's going amazing so far, also, be sure to keep an eye out for a series review soon enough.

Next on the list is  Animal Farm by George Orwell. This is a must read that I've been meaning to get to and I know Ariel swears by this book so that's enough for it to make the list! I'll be covering a total of three challenges with this so it's a win-win situation. The challenges that are covered by Animal Farm are the following:

  • Read a book that has been or still is banned from BiBib.
  • Read a book completely outdoors which means that whenever you pick the book up to read you must be outside. -from BookTubeAThon
  • And finally, finish a book in a day. It's quite short so it shouldn't be hard to complete this one.

Onto the fourth book, we have a very exciting read and that is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling! I suppose I don't really have to talk about this, the book speaks for itself so let's get to the challenges covered by this book.

  • Read a book and then watch the movie adaptation from BiBib. I am filled with enthusiasm for this one, to be honest. Harry Potter always brings sweet nostalgia to me as I'm sure it does to millions of other people.
  • Read a book with a person on the cover from BookTubeAThon.
  • Read a book with a different main character also from BookTubeAThon. Well, Harry is pretty different from me in various aspects. He is male, he is a wizard, he is living in a magical world that we all desparately want to go...

Next is Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carrol. I obviously have read this as a munchkin and seen the movies multiple times. We all know the story but do we know this cover though? I couldn't find a good pic and my battery died before I could take a photo of my copy but it is the Macmillan Collector's edition. The spine is glitter gold and under the dust jacket, it's an adorable baby blue. If you couldn't tell by now, Alice will be covering the cover buy challenge from BookTubeAThon!

Last but not least, we have A Game of Thrones: Graphic Novel, Volume 1 by George R.R. Martin. With this, I'm aiming to complete the throwback challenge from BiBib. I went on a journey through the pdf files of challenges from previous years and I chose read a graphic novel challenge.

I know it's a little late to post this but better late than never! I hope you guys enjoyed reading my TBR picks for Biannual Bibliathon and BookTube-AThon. Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again in the Day #1 of Blogger Challenges in about 15 minutes.
